
🎓 Top 10 Tips for EBS Freshmen
Starting university can feel overwhelming – but don’t worry, we’ve got your back. Whether you’re figuring out Canvas, planning your semester, or finding your way to the library, here are 10 tips to help you hit the ground running at Estonian Business School (EBS). Save this post, and refer back to it whenever you need!
1. 🏫 Know where to go for help
Have questions about your curriculum, certificates, or exams? The Study Department (room 103) is your go-to and is open 09:00–17:30.
You’re warmly encouraged to drop by Study Department or email your study consultant with any questions about your studies during your first week. Remember your study consultant will remain your main point of contact for any study-related questions or concerns throughout your time at EBS.

Have thoughts about your courses or overall student life?
- Liina Reimann – The Head of Student Experience is the right person to contact. She is responsible for course evaluations and organising student feedback, ensuring your voice helps shape the quality of education at EBS.
Whether it’s suggestions for improvement or recognition for what’s working well, your input matters.
2. 📅 Stay on top of your calendar
Some courses start already on 1st of September! You’ll find your schedule in Canvas and MyEBS. And don’t forget to meet your coursemates on 27 August!
3.💻 Use the right study portals
- Canvas – schedule, study materials, syllabus, assignments, and exams
- MyEBS – course enrollment, invoices, scholarships, certificates
- Intranet (students.ebs.ee) – study-related info and links
- Homepage – general info (check here last 😉)
4. ✅ Accept your Canvas course invitations
When you log in to Canvas (ebs.canvas.ee), you’ll see invites to your courses. Hit “Accept” to access materials, calendars, and tests.
5. 📝 Know your curriculum
All Bachelor level programs are 180 ECTS (1 ECTS = 26 study hours). You’ll complete:
- Mandatory & elective courses (24-30 ECTS as required by your study program)
- Internships (2×6 ECTS) – except session-based studies
- Bachelor thesis (9 ECTS)
6. 🌍 Dreaming of studying abroad?
The mobility window is in your 3rd year autumn semester.
Requirements:
- Average grade of 3.0
- C or higher in English
- 24-30 ECTS electives completed
Application deadline: March (but prepare sooner!)

8. 🧠 Use student support services
Need help planning your career or managing time? Contact EBS Career Services at kadri.osula@ebs.ee.
Feeling overwhelmed or struggling mentallly? Don’t hesitate to reach out for psychological counselling – you’re not alone. We provide free short-term (1-3 sessions) counselling and therapy. Counselling contacts can be found on the EBS Intranet.
9. 📚 Find your study spaces

10. 📧 Stay connected
Check your EBS email (name.surname@ebs.ee via mail.ebs.ee) regularly – it’s where you’ll get all official updates. Your account also gives you free access to MS Office tools, so take advantage of them for your studies.
