Introweek 2023 – everything you need to know!

Introweek 2023 will take place from August 28 until September 1 and it is a week, which is dedicated to first-year Bachelor’s and Master’s students. To make sure that you don’t miss out on this experience we have gathered all the information you need to know about Introweek 2023 in one place.

One week full of exciting events are waiting for you! Introweek will help you to get gradually used to the university environment, to get to know your fellow freshmen and network, to prepare for studies ahead, to enjoy awesome leisure time activities and social events.

Wristbands and welcome bags

From the info desk, you will receive your wristband and welcome bag. To take part in the Introweek activities you need to have the wristband on your hand at all times. The info desk is in the lobby of EBS building on the first floor.

The info desk opening hours:

August 28, Monday: 14:00-18:30

August 29: Tuesday: 09:30-15:00

PS! Master’s students will receive their welcome bags and wristbands already during Master’s studies Boot camp.

Partners and discounts

We have partnered up with awesome partners to make your experience even more memorable! Introweek wristband will give you access to Introweek events and discount at the partner restaurants. Explore different restaurants and get a discount or a special Introweek meal by showing your wristband or using special code.

Registration for the events

Some of the Introweek events require registration/ticket purchase, as spots to these events are limited. First come, first served! You will find the information under each event.

Registration for the events starts on August 21!

The social events that require a ticket are available in fienta.com. The registration to the Introweek seminars is through Google Forms and you will find the links under the event.

All of the events are non-refundable. If you cannot attend the event, you are allowed to sell the ticket to fellow freshmen. Please let us know about the switch one day in advance by sending an e-mail to introweek@ebs.ee.

Agenda for Introweek

27.08 – 28.08, Monday-Sunday

Mandatory Master’s studies Boot Camp on August 27 and 28.

Master’s Boot Camp is a special kick-off event for new master’s students! During this special 2-day event, you will learn more about coaching, leadership and your coursemates. The evening programme includes networking, socialising and getting to know your master’s students.

The event takes place in Küla Villa, which sets the perfect environment for networking and forging meaningful connections.

28.08, Monday

Come and get your wristband and welcome bag at the info desk!

Events:

  • How to become Estonian. event is meant for all the international students (Finnish students, Non-EU+EU degree students, Erasmus+ students). You will have an opportunity to get to know more about Estonian history, cities and towns, the unexpectable Estonian weather, food, culture and traditions (room 415)
  • The day continues with with a nice Old town tour which is a great opportunity to explore your new home-town.
  • Welcome to Estonia! – A mandatory Information session for all the international students (Finnish students, Non-EU+EU degree students, Erasmus+ students) will be held (room 415)
  • Opening ceremony for all of our new students. We expect you to be present – only this way you can start off your EBS journey in the correct way! (EBS hall, 413)

29.08, Tuesday

Events:

  • Tuesday will start with a series of seminars for bachelor’s students on the topic of “Motivation & Goal setting”. The seminars, which are done in interactive workshop format, will give you an opportunity to get to know your fellow freshmen, acquire knowledge for successful studies at EBS and most importantly – have fun!

    You have the possibility to choose the most relevant time to attend.  Please make sure you check the language (Estonian and English) of the seminar when you register!

  • There are also mandatory information sessions. All of the groups have their own info session, so check your time in advance, and be ready to receive the most important information about your studies at EBS.

  • Get to know your fellow EBSters! Networking corner is a space where you can chat, play some games and get some info about EBS from fellow students and lecturers. You can find the networking corner in the chill area on the third floor (left side – room 301).
  • In the evening, the most memorable event – Scavenger Hunt is waiting for you! The meeting point in front of EBS.

30.08, Wednesday

Events:

  • Wednesday continues with the seminars on the topic of “Shape Your Learning Path”. Keep in mind that you need to attend a seminar at the same time as on Tuesday!

  • Join us at “Meet Your Coursemates” – a fun-filled gathering where you’ll meet fellow students from your program, bond through fun activities and embark on an unforgettable university journey together.

  • Get to know your fellow EBSters! Networking corner is a space where you can chat, play some games and get some info about EBS from fellow students and lecturers. You can find the networking corner in the chill area on the third floor (left side – room 301).
  • In the evening, after both of the previous events, there will be an awesome boat party for everyone who wants to have a great night. The ticket price is 28 €.

    Make sure you buy your ticket, as the places are limited and tickets sell out quite fast. Purchase your ticket here.
  • Parallel to the boat party, you will have an opportunity to join to the social event Afterglow en Route and hangout with your fellow EBSters at Route 33. There’s karaoke and a pool table open for everybody! Free entrance to all, just don’t forget your wristbands!

31.08, Thursday

Variety of activities and events – choose the ones that interest you the most!

Events:

  • Laser Tag Wars  during a game of laser tag, teams will battle it out to achieve set objectives and win a series of games. A session usually consists of five or six games and will last for around two hours.

  • Minigolf Adventure – a lot of business deals are done on the golf course. Come enjoy the game! Guaranteed positive emotions in a unique environment with your fellow students.

  • Seminar Enchance Your Learning with ChatGPT” – how to support your learning by using ChatGPT and learn topics faster.

  • In the evening we have prepared something special for you! EBS Inspirational Talks Night brings together remarkable alumni speakers who have excelled not only academically but also in their personal and professional lives. They will share invaluable insights and practical tips on the importance of soft skills, personal development, and lifelong learning.

    After that, we invite you to join the Networking event, where you have an opportunity to mingle and get to know EBS family even better.

  • Prepare for an amazing evening by sleeping in and taking some time for yourself. Free morning, so you can enjoy our evening event to the fullest!
  • Semester Kick-off Party Are you ready for the start of a new school year? Let’s kick this one off with a blast! Come join us at Tallinn Old Town at Kinomaja – Bar & Stage @ 22:00 to celebrate the start of a new semester with a party you won’t regret! Meet your fellow EBSters as everybody is invited!
