Introweek, which has become a great tradition and was warmly welcomed by students, was held this year from 25 to 29 of August. Introweek 2024 was a thrilling blend of academic prep, social networking, and unforgettable events, giving new students the perfect introduction to university life.

Welcome to EBS
“This year was special, as Introweek was organized for the 5th time this year. Introweek is always an exciting time at EBS, as halls are filled with chatter, laughter, excitement and energy. This traditional week-long event is about creating meaningful connections, setting the foundation for academic success, networking and building a strong community. We are happy to welcome all freshmen to EBS family” says the main organizer of Introweek Liina Reimann.
Masters bootcamp at Roosta
Introweek kicked off with a Bootcamp at Roosta over the weekend, where master’s students began their studies by attending a Coaching & Leadership masterclass. The event also gave them the chance to learn more about EBS and connect with their fellow freshmen. Roosta set the perfect environment for networking and creating meaningful connections.
Welcoming international students
The programme for international students started with the Internationals Picnic on Sunday. This laid-back gathering at Pirita Beach was the ideal way for exchange and international students to meet each other while enjoying the scenic views of Tallinn.
For international students, Monday was all about familiarizing themselves with Estonia and Tallinn. The morning began with a fun yet essential event titled “How to Become an Estonian”, a lighthearted but useful workshop that familiarized international students with Estonian culture, etiquette, and local customs. This was followed by the Old Town Tour, where international students explored the city’s medieval streets, learning about Tallinn’s rich history and culture.
Later in the afternoon “Welcome to Estonia!” session was held, which provided essential tips for settling into life in Tallinn, including navigating student life, residence permits, and practical matters.
Opening ceremony
The official opening ceremony of the week took place on Monday 26 August, when all the new students gathered for the first time in the EBS hall. The students were welcomed by EBS Rector Meelis Kitsing, Head of Bachelor’s and Specialised Master’s Programmes Anto Liivat and Head of MBA Programmes Marko Rillo. At the end of the event, standing shoulder by shoulder all students together gave a freshmen’s oath.
Seminars & Information Sessions
The following two days were full or educational seminars and information sessions.
Tuesday was all about aligning goals on the educational journey and getting to know fellow freshmen. Wednesday’s session focused on learning styles, creating a suitable learning environment and team dynamics.
To make sure studies start smoothly information sessions provided essential details on the university’s academic structure, expectations, and resources. Students were guided through everything they needed to know about their courses, campus facilities, and support systems. Meet Your Coursemates sessions allowed to build connections that would last throughout their university journey.
Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger Hunt turned Tallinn old town into a playground for exploration and discovery. Teams raced to solve clues, complete challenges, and navigate the city, all while getting to know EBS staff & faculty members and each other.

Boat Party & Soirée at Suhe
One of the week’s highlights was Wednesday’s legendary Boat Party, a three-hour cruise along Tallinn Bay. With music, drinks, and stunning views. Followed by Soirée at Suhe, a social event where students could unwind and enjoy a vibrant atmosphere after a busy day of activities.
Sports Club & Investment Club event
EBS Mini Olympics organised by EBS Sports Club took was playful yet competitive event, where students could bond through fun athletic challenges. The Mini Olympics encouraged both teamwork and friendly competition, perfect for breaking the ice.
In the afternoon, the EBS Investment Club hosted “Inside the Start-up Journey”, featuring Markus Lutsokert, CEO of Monemon. This insightful session gave attendees a deep dive into the realities of launching and scaling a start-up. Lutsokert shared his entrepreneurial journey, highlighting key strategies from ideation to market launch, followed by a lively Q&A session where students could interact directly with him.
EBS Inspirational Talks
Inspirational Talks Night brought together remarkable alumni speakers Ron Donald, Sandra Bergman Raag & Karl Oskar Haak, who shared their journey with freshmen about studies, professional opportunities and having the right mindset.
The event was a great opportunity for students to be inspired by those who had once walked in their shoes. Some of words of wisdom by alumni: “To make money, spend time around money”, “Get out there and grow your network”, “Make most of it”, “Be proactive, but patient”.
With a blend of workshops, inspiring talks, and team-building events, Thursday truly embodied the spirit of EBS: fostering growth, building networks, and pushing boundaries.
Semester Kick-Off Party
The week wrapped up with a traditional Semester Kick-off Party at Club Monument.
The party started of with a warm-up set by DJ Artur and continued with an unforgettable performance by NOËP, which set the perfect vibe for the evening. This event marked the perfect end to a week of growth, new friendships, and celebrations!
