Introweek 2025 recap & aftermovie

From 25–29 August 2025, EBS kicked off the school year with Introweek – five days full of new faces, exciting events, and unforgettable memories. Our campus and the city of Tallinn were buzzing as the newest ebsters started their journey together.

Welcome to EBS

Each year during Introweek we see how students form bonds, gain confidence, and feel at home at EBS. Introweek is about more than just starting studies—it’s about building a community that grows together and inspires.

Master’s Bootcamp at Roosta

Introweek kicked off with the Master’s Bootcamp at Roosta, where our master’s students got a head start on their EBS journey. The weekend mixed a Coaching & Leadership masterclass with plenty of chances to get to know each other. It was the perfect mix of learning, sharing experiences, and building meaningful connections that will carry on throughout their studies.

A Warm Welcome to International Students

Introweek is also about helping our international and exchange students feel at home in Estonia from day one. On Monday morning, they gathered for two special sessions designed just for them.

First up was “How to Become an Estonian” — a fun and eye-opening introduction to Estonian culture, quirks, and everyday life. From local customs to little habits, it gave newcomers a first taste of what makes Estonians tick.

Right after, the panel “New Country, New Life: Student Perspectives” brought together current international students and alumni who shared their own stories of moving to Estonia. They spoke honestly about the challenges, surprises, and joys of adapting to a new country. Freshmen had the chance to ask questions, learn practical tips, and connect with peers who’ve already been through the same journey.

The day ended with the Old Town Tour, where students explored the cobblestone streets, hidden courtyards, and stories of medieval Tallinn. It was not only a great way to learn about the city but also the perfect setting for making new friends.

Opening Ceremony

On Monday, 25 August, all new students came together for the official Opening Ceremony in the EBS Hall. The room was buzzing with excitement as everyone gathered for the first time.

Students were greeted by the EBS leadership team, who shared words of encouragement and inspiration for the journey ahead. The highlight of the event was when all freshmen stood side by side to take the freshmen’s oath — a powerful moment that marked the official start of their life at EBS.

Getting to Know EBS

Tuesday morning began with information sessions, where students got their first real look into life at EBS. From courses and academic expectations to student services and opportunities on campus, these sessions gave freshmen the essentials they’ll need to feel confident and prepared.

Afterwards, students joined the seminars which encouraged students to think about what they want to achieve and how to get the most out of their time at EBS. It was a chance not only to reflect but also to connect with other ebsters in a teambuilding format.

Scavenger Hunt in Old Town

The evening brought a change of pace with one of Introweek’s most loved traditions – the Scavenger Hunt.

Tallinn’s Old Town turned into a giant adventure course as teams solved clues, tackled challenges, and explored hidden corners of the city. The atmosphere was full of laughter, energy, and team spirit, with students getting to know each other (and the city) in a fun and unforgettable way.

Finding Your Learning Style & Your People

Wednesday combined practical learning with the chance to connect on a deeper level.

Through the seminars, students explored different learning styles, teamwork dynamics, and how to build a study environment that works for them. These sessions offered practical tools to make studying more effective, while also giving everyone a chance to reflect on how they learn best.

At the same time, the Meet Your Coursemates sessions brought study groups together for the first time. Sitting down face to face, students started to get to know each other beyond names on a list. It was the moment when classmates began turning into teammates — ready to share the ups and downs of university life.

A Night to Remember

By evening, it was time to celebrate. The legendary Boat Party took students on a three-hour cruise across Tallinn Bay, complete with music, dancing, and incredible views. It’s always one of the most talked-about events of the week and this year was no exception.

When the boat returned to shore, the energy only kept building at Suhe Soirée in Telliskivi. Far from just a casual afterparty, Suhe turned into a full-on celebration. Packed with students, good music, and a vibrant atmosphere, it was the kind of night where no one wanted to leave.

Inside the World of Investing

Thursday kicked off with an event hosted by the EBS Investment Club, featuring guest speaker Margus Rink, former CEO of Coop Pank.

The session gave students a clear look into Estonia’s current economic climate and investment landscape. Margus explained why investor confidence is low, what factors are affecting stock prices, and where capital has disappeared in recent years.

It was an honest and thought-provoking session that helped students better understand the forces shaping today’s economy.

Inspirational Talks Night: Real Advice, Real Stories

On Thursday evening, three alumni returned to EBS to share their stories and lessons learned with the new ebsters.

  • Matteo Pasolli spoke about resilience, action, and entrepreneurship. He shared his journey from Italy to Estonia, where he tested different business ideas some successful, others not, but all full of lessons.“Progress comes from starting, failing, and learning — not waiting for perfection,” he reminded the audience. His advice was to say yes early, surround yourself with the right people, and remember that success is built step by step, not overnight.
  • Helen Kaljusaar brought honesty and energy to the stage. She recalled being told that she already missed the right steps to be successful in the future, but she proved otherwise. During her time at EBS, she encouraged students to hang out with everyone, participate in events, and even take the lead to organise them. In her marketing career, she worked at an agency where her team’s creativity was recognised with the prestigious Silver Egg award at Kuldmuna. Reflecting on the intensity of agency life and the different rhythm of start-ups, she left students with an important reminder: “No goal is more important than your well-being.”
  • Randy Padar shared his journey from the Student Council and the Investment Club at EBS, to time spent abroad, and eventually building different companies. He encouraged students to embrace their first year fully: spend as much time at school as possible, step out of their comfort zones, and learn to work in teams and partnerships. Along the way, he gained recognition, including Delfi’s 30 Under 30 and an award for being among the top 15 Startups in Europe. While proud of these milestones, Randy also spoke openly about burnout and leadership. His advice was powerful: “If your team cannot replace you, then you have played your cards wrong,” and “your environment is 20 times stronger than your will.”

The night wasn’t just about career paths it was about real stories, honest advice, and lessons learned the hard way. Students left the hall motivated and inspired, ready to take their own first steps at EBS.

The Final Celebration

Introweek 2025 ended with the Semester Kick-Off Party at Club Monument. DJs, dancing, and a packed dance floor made it the perfect way to celebrate the start of the semester.

It was the perfect finale to a week full of new experiences, connections, and memories.
